Geoquest Australia & New Zealand was proud to support CATS Construction on the CBH Avon – Type E Storage Refurbishment, a major project boosting storage capacity in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt – right in our own backyard at Northam.
This comprehensive upgrade modernised a critical grain storage facility, strengthening the future of WA’s grain industry. From our Northam site, Geoquest designed, manufactured, and supplied approximately 120 precast concrete wall panels for the refurbishment.
The upgraded CBH Avon storage was delivered ahead of the 2025 grain harvest – a season forecasted to be a bumper crop. By late December, those forecasts proved accurate: CBH Group reported receiving more than 22.9 million tonnes of wheat, barley, and canola, with deliveries still continuing (source: CBH Group). The haul is a record breaker, marking the largest winter crop production in WA’s history.

Western Australia’s agricultural regions remain Australia’s largest grain-exporting producers. Australia is one of the world’s leading suppliers of grains and canola seed – with our own Wheatbelt region playing a vital contributing role.

Geoquest Australia and New Zealand’s Wheatbelt precast concrete manufacturing facility was established in 2021 in the Grass Valley Industrial Estate in the Shire of Northam. It was the second manufacturing site for Geoquest in Western Australia, alongside it’s Landsdale facility in Perth. Geoquest is proud to support this essential agricultural community through our Northam Industrial Estate manufacturing facility.
